Canceling an application

To cancel an application (by participant)

The following is the procedure for cancellation of an application by the participant.

  1. After logging in, click the “Change course” menu to display a list of courses that you have signed up for yourself.

  2. On the course list, click the “Cancel” button of the course you want to cancel. This will display the application cancel details.

  3. Check the application cancel details and then click the “Cancellation confirmed” button to cancel the application. After cancellation is complete, you will receive a “Notification of Course Cancellation” by email.


To cancel a single application (by proxy)

The following is the procedure for cancellation of a single application by proxy.

  1. After logging in, click the “Change course” menu to display a list of courses that have been signed up for.

  2. Click the “Go to list of course application status for others as proxy” link to display the courses you have applied for on the behalf of others as a proxy.

  3. On the course list, click the “Cancel” button of the course you want to cancel. This will display the application cancel details.

  4. Check the application cancel details and then click the “Cancellation confirmed” button to cancel the application. After cancellation is complete, you will receive a “Notification of Course Cancellation” by email.


To cancel multiple applications (by proxy)

The following is the procedure for batch cancellation of multiple applications by proxy.

  1. After logging in, click the “Apply for course” menu to display the course that is currently accepting applications.

  2. Click the “To course batch processing input screen” link to display courses that are accepting proxy applications.

  3. Click the “Sample of files for batch processing is here” link to download a CSV template.

  4. Edit the downloaded CSV file to match the format of the batch file.

  5. Click the “Browse” button and then select the CSV file you created.

  6. Click the [To confirmation screen] button to display the details of the batch process.

  7. After checking the details of the batch process, click the “Confirm” button to cancel the applications. After cancellation is complete, you will receive a “Notification of Course Cancellation” by email.

Hint

If you create a batch file that causes an error, an error message describing the problem will appear on the next page. Check the contents of the file and correct the problem, and then return to the previous page to re-register.


Conditions for cancellation by proxy

The participant must specify another user as his or her proxy in order for the proxy to act as a proxy to cancel an application.

Example: Mr. Tanaka acts as a proxy to cancel a course on behalf of Mr. Suzuki
  • Mr. Suzuki goes to his My Account page and clicks the “Edit account information” link. On the editing screen that appears, he specifies Mr. Tanaka as his proxy.

  • As a result, Mr. Tanaka is able to cancel a course application on Mr. Suzuki’s behalf.


To cancel a single application (by checker)

The following is the procedure for cancellation of a single application by checker.

  1. After logging in, please click on the menu “For organization leader or checker > Schedule of participants” to display the schedule of participants to be checked.

  2. Clicking on the “Cancel” link will open a confirmation dialog and click “OK” to cancel the application.

Course for which cancellation is allowed/not allowed

Courses that can and cannot be canceled by the participant or by proxy depends on the applicant and on the current status of the application.

Cancellation by proxy of an application that does not have a Cancel button

An application that does not have a Cancel button can be canceled by the course manager only. Request cancellation of such courses from the course manager.
